Staff and volunteers

Assisi Aid Projects is staffed by a small team of part-time staff in our Melbourne office.  We place the majority of human resources overseas with our partners, as this maximises impact, local ownership and value for money. The Melbourne team are supported by our wonderful volunteers, who bring a range of skills and experience to support our work.

Prue Ingram

Chief Executive Officer

Prue joined Assisi Aid Projects as CEO in June 2020 while Chloe Reynolds is on maternity leave. As CEO, she provides leadership and strategic management of Assisi Aid Projects and oversees the day-to-day operations including the development and delivery of the organisation’s strategic plan, country strategies and annual operational plans. 

With a background in Speech Pathology, Prue has extensive experience in managing teams and projects in the health, public service and community sectors. Prior to joining Assisi Aid Projects, Prue was CEO for eight years at Interplast Australia & New Zealand, an international development organisation operating across the Asia Pacific Region.

Prue has diverse experience in senior leadership, governance, strategic planning, program design and delivery, people and stakeholder management, financial and budget management, donor relationships, and policy and procedure development.

Caroline Gatenby

Program Manager

Expand

Caroline oversees and manages program operations. Caroline is an experienced international development, communication, and organisational mentor and strategist; managing and contributing to projects that address economic and gender equity, SDGs, and MDGs with NGOs, UN missions, Red Cross, philanthropic trusts, and foreign governments since 2008.

Holding a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Classics, and a Master of Arts, Caroline is currently studying for a Masters of International Development at the University of Melbourne. Caroline is committed to feminist principles, and has an affinity with the women’s empowerment mission of Assisi Aid Projects.

Caroline brings a wide range of skills to her role, including: international development; strategic and communication planning; business process improvement; corporate governance; philanthropic giving; executive reporting; capacity development of international teams; editing and technical writing.

Indira Wijesinghe

Finance Manager

As the Finance Manager, Indira brings a wealth of experience, skill and knowledge working in the finance and the not-for-profit sectors to Assisi Aid Projects. Indira is an enthusiastic NGO professional possessing more than 20 years experience within accounting and financial management, auditing, taxation, administration, compliance, and human resources. Skilled in developing reports for senior management and donors, summarizing the organizational financial status, and coordinating and preparation of financial forecast and budgets. Indira has experience in working with different cultural contexts in more than 15 different countries. She is a Fellow member of IPA Australia, Association member of CPA, holding a Bachelor of Accountancy and Finance Management (special).

Isabella Kenne

Volunteer Project Officer (Communications)

Joining Assisi Aid Projects in June 2019, Isabella has further developed her passion for gender equality through the work of the organisation and has assisted across various tasks with an attentive eye for detail. Isabella has a strong interest in uplifting the voices of those who are powerless and is continuously inspired by the stories of the women whose lives have been transformed by the work of Assisi Aid Projects. Isabella is additionally interested in the intersection and interaction of economic development and women's empowerment.

Isabella has recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Monash University and is currently completing an Honours year.

Rebecca Hough

Volunteer Project Officer

In February 2019, Rebecca joined the Assisi Aid Projects where she developed a passion for the aims and ethos of the organisation.  Rebecca is interested in gender inclusion and disability inclusion, and how the two interact and intersect. Rebecca has a strong interest in research and policy work. Rebecca was initially drawn to organisations mission, of empowering women to gain financial, social and political independence and continues to enjoy working with the like-minded people she has met at Assisi Aid Projects.

Rebecca has recently completed a Bachelor of Arts (Human Rights and Sociology).

Chloe Reynolds

Chief Executive Officer - currently on maternity leave

Chloe is responsible for the operational leadership and strategic management of Assisi Aid Projects. Chloe oversees the day-to-day operations, including the development and delivery of the organisation’s strategic plan, country strategies and annual operational plans. Prior to joining Assisi Aid Projects, Chloe held senior humanitarian roles with Save the Children, leading a team managing $500m of global emergency response awards.  Previously Chloe  worked with a range of organisations focussed upon women’s empowerment, and brings strong financial and operational skills having started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Chloe is experienced in the design and delivery of projects promoting women’s empowerment, child rights, and combatting social disadvantage, having worked on projects in a variety of contexts including India, Yemen, Bangladesh, China, Mongolia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Kenya and Tanzania.

 

Chloe has diverse experience in senior leadership, governance, strategic planning, program design and delivery, people and stakeholder management, financial and budget management, donor relationships and reporting, new business development, capacity building and mentoring, child safeguarding, and policy and procedure development.
