Sustainability Our development model is simple.

It is our aim to provide education and social infrastructure that will continue in the community long after Assisi has shifted its focus to other areas of need.

Initially we work with communities to identify women with leadership potential to become Self Help Group facilitators.

Assisi provides these Leaders with a salary and training over a 12-month period that enables them to impart skills and knowledge to others in their own villages.

As Self Help Groups mature, they become self-sufficient manage themselves with only the occasionalneed for guidance.

After a number of years, our Self Help Groups are able to operate independently, without the need for on-going assistance from Assisi.
