About Assisi Aid Projects

Assisi Aid Projects is an Australian based aid and humanitarian organisation with a focus on development projects across Asia.  It has a programmed approach over a number of countries.  One country is India where we support development work organised by our Indian partner NGO, Assisi Farm & Training Centre (AF&TC) led by Sister Stella Edattu.  Assisi provides funding and technical and professional advice to AF&TC.

We are a non-denominational aid agency – with a “no strings attached” philosophy. Our programs are open and available to all and do not promote or support any religious or political adherences.

Assisi was formed in 1985.  It is based in Victoria and is overseen by a Committee of Management.  Many supporters provide their skills on an unpaid basis to assist with the running of our Australian operations.

Assisi holds base accreditation with AusAID.  We receive funding from the Australian Government for our development projects.

Donations to Assisi for projects that alleviate poverty are tax-deductible.

Assisi Aid Projects is a member of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) and abides by the ACFID Code of Conduct.

Assisi Aid Projects Inc. is a signatory to the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) Code of Conduct which defines minimum standards of governance, management and accountability for non-government development organisations.

Adherence to the Code is monitored by an independent Code of Conduct Committee elected from the NGO community. Our voluntary adherence to the Code of Conduct demonstrates our commitment to ethical practice and public accountability.
